Today started off really well. I turned on the news expecting to see the usual run of events -- someone dead here, a robbery there, and drugs everywhere.
But to my surprise, I saw the dumbest thing I think I've seen in a long time. Looked like a scene from "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid", or "Bonnie and Clyde" with literally dozens of cops filling the air with a hailstorm of bullets.
Seems some enterprising thieves saw fit to heist an armored car with some $2M aboard. That's right folks, an ARMORED car. A la Brinks. Bulletproof. Impervious to small arms fire.
So here are police endangering the lives of countless innocents and themselves as well with a lethal 4th of July demonstration. I didn't hear if anyone was injured or killed, but I do know the would-be thieves were safe and uninjured.
I have no idea who was in charge, but from the Police Commissioner on down to whoever was in charge on the scene should be fired and tried for, if nothing else, gross stupidity. I'm sure glad the police here don't have antitank weapons, or we'd have gotten a real treat -- barbecued bandits.
The morons would have accomplished more had they urinated on the truck. Hello, it's an ARMORED car! What were the police officers thinking? Well, it wasn't the protection of human life, that's for sure. They have GOT to start educating folks here.
I have gotten on a few of the police here who can't figure out simple things, like, if you're wearing a bullet-proof vest OVER your uniform, the bad guys will start taking head shots. There are some things you just don't advertise.
Oh well, blame it on the educational system. Looks like they need to define words like "bulletproof" in pictures, flash-card style.
David-The bad, the ugly, and the stupid.
