|Hi David / Methodius / Ryan,
|
|I'm doing work on the gradebook (since the SDS realtime system has been
|bobbing on and off) and along with the various views required, I'm also
|considering what to do about the requirement to reweight after
|every added assessment item.
|
|One solution is to add an option to the AddItem script, so that when a new
|item (a test for example) is added, there will be an option to lock
|weights of all items of the same group to the same overall weight. It will
|do this by adjusting the weights of all items of the same group. (at the
|time the new item is added).
|
|Does this sound like an appropriate solution?

Absolutely. My teachers aren't using this option (weighting) at the
moment, but some of the higher grade teachers will start.

(sorry I haven been commenting much, but our school year just ended --
will be getting back into this during Jan & Feb in prep for next school
year beginning mid-March).

Ciao,

David A. Bandel
